Mike began swing dancing when the new swing craze started in the 90's, after a Gap commercial helped revive the dance. In 2001, he discovered lindy hop and began traveling to attend workshops and exchanges in Atlanta, Miami, Austin, Ann Arbor, New York, and everywhere in between. As a student at UT Knoxville, he began teaching on campus and became president of the swing club there. He continued in that position for 5 years, until he moved to Memphis in 2007, where he continues to teach and is currently the treasurer of Red Hot Lindy Hop. He has taught special classes in Little Rock and likes to focus his classes on technique, a universal lead/follow connection through all styles of partner dancing, and enjoys the social aspect of the dance. Mike has been teaching for 10 years.
